Contemporary Techniques and Creativity for Zoukers
Learn new solo dance techniques to expand your dance toolbox and approach to developing personal style in your social dancing. Classes include: ballet technique, dancing in 3/4 time, Graham contraction, Gaga movement language, Bartenieff Fundamentals, and floorwork. The combo based classes begin with a 30-minute jazz warm up including isolations, cardio, conditioning, body movement, and ballet technique. Then we explore our creativity through a short combo based on Brazilian Zouk foundation steps and contemporary dance vocabulary. I love floorwork, so be sure to clear some extra space if you can. Mechanics of Flow
One of my most popular classes (even at 9am on Sundays!) Mechanics of Flow is a restoring, mobilizing, and strengthening class for Zoukers and crossover dancers. Progressive exercises promote healthy sequential motion through the spine, core strength, hip mobility, and foot health, among other tools for comfortable and safe head movement, body movement, and hip motion in Brazilian Zouk dancing. |
